DR Isabel Millar
I am a philosopher and psychoanalytic theorist from London. My first book, based on my doctoral thesis, The Psychoanalysis of Artificial Intelligence was published in 2021 in The Palgrave Lacan Series and has received acclaim from major figures in philosophy, psychoanalysis, film theory and contemporary art including Alenka Zupancic, Lorenzo Chiesa, Todd McGowan and Jake Chapman. I am currently writing my next book Patipolitics for Bloomsbury Philosophy.
I received my PhD in Philosophy and Psychoanalysis from Kingston University, School of Art in 2021. I hold an MA in Psychosocial Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Sussex. I am Associate Researcher at Newcastle University, Department of Philosophy and Research Fellow and Faculty at the Global Centre for Advanced Studies where I lecture with their newly formed Institute of Psychoanalysis and on the MA Philosophy.
